clairo - immunity
finally! something recent!
i was introduced to this album a few months back and it’s stuck around as a go-to ever since (thanks joel). just yesterday my friends and i were drooling over it!
i am incredibly impressed with such beautiful artistry coming from someone so young. i mean, i’m like the same age as clairo so i don’t know what that says about what i think of myself.
there is such a stunning simplicity in the songs she’s written. her artistry is so cool and effortless. i also really appreciate the way that she uses the modern technology of making music to her advantage. usually i prefer “real” instruments, but i don’t deny the fact that computers can also create some pretty incredible sounds. this is good testimony to that.
“sinking” and “i wouldn’t ask you” are probably my favourite tracks off of this album - but definitely listen to the whole thing when you get a chance.
